Australia being a multicultural country, is it easy to adjust? The answer is yes, but it all depends on you, when you arrive in this country you will experience some changes that we are going to tell you about below:
Culture shock:
We all know that it is not easy and if we go to Australia we have to be prepared to experience situations that are not very familiar to us. We as Latinos have a very nice culture, we are very friendly, we like to smile, we are all friends and we support each other and we are going to see that a lot here. In fact, you can tell very easily who is Latino. But that does not mean that other cultures are not friendly and good people, but there are different ways of expressing themselves, of behaving and all of them are very acceptable. After spending some time in Australia you will realize how beautiful it is to learn from so many cultures, because they all have something very valuable.
Work:
When we come to a country like Australia, either to learn English or to study at university, for most of us it is necessary to get a job to be able to pay for our stay. Many of us come with vast experience in various sectors or simply have never worked before. The thing is that here many of us have to start doing jobs that we have probably never done before, but which are very dignified, respected and well paid by the Australian community. Some of the jobs that we can get easier when we arrive are waiter, cleaning, construction, housekeeping or in the commercial area.
Study:
Did you ever think you were going back to school? Because that's what we call it here, the English school, which is, literally, like going back to school. It is there where you will meet your first friends, probably from Korea, Vietnam, Italy or Turkey, or any other country you can imagine, with whom you will eat out for the first time and with whom you will take your first steps to learn the English language. Can you imagine trying to tell your story to your new friends in a Korean restaurant, while drinking soju (Korean alcohol) with your faithful friend google translate? Well, if you smiled with this, imagine being there, it is the best, these are moments you will never forget. If you come to study English in Australia, I guarantee it will be a very exciting experience!
Food:
This is one of the most exciting things you will experience in Australia. The gastronomic richness that exists in this country is something out of this world, where in the same street you can find food from five different countries, and in the center alone, you can find restaurants from every place you can imagine. Now, as far as Latin food is concerned, so far it is becoming popular but you will always find that restaurant that, despite not having all your favorite dishes, makes you travel back home for a moment.
Adjusting to Australia is not complicated, and as we tell you, it is an exciting and positive experience.
